TIG Welding Workshops in New York City

Introduction to TIG Welding Workshops

In this two-hour TIG welding workshop, students will learn the basics of TIG welding on stainless steel. The cost of the workshop is $200.00.

TIG stands for Tungsten Inert Gas and is technically called Gas Tungsten Arc Welding or GTAW. TIG welding is similar to oxy-acetylene welding in that you use a filler rod, but it uses a tungsten electrode and an electric arc instead of just gasses.

TIG welding is often used for non-ferrous metals such as aluminum, bronze, and copper, but is can also be used for ferrous metals such as steel and stainless steel. While TIG welding can be more challenging to learn than MIG welding, TIG welding produces a stronger and cleaner weld.

Workshops are limited to 3 students, which ensures individualized attention.

All necessary materials are covered in the cost of the tuition. Prior gas, ARC or MIG welding experience is not required, but recommended.

Students must wear a long-sleeve cotton shirt and pants (no synthetic fibers) and closed-toe shoes or boots.
